- Finished his GCH on April 3, 2011, at the North Country KC show in Syracuse, NY with Gina Currier handling him. He was brought out of retirement (again) because of the Grand Championship title and to let him do what he loves to do, i.e., show off!
- Shadow was officially retired for the last time on November 27, 2011 after winning Veteran Dog at the ABC National Specialty Show in Fort Smith, AR. He had the opportunity to see a daughter, a nephew, and some grandkids walk away with some ribbons and awards.
Whow! Shadow had a rousing start as a pup and just kept on winning. We were expecting good looking pups with some solid bird dog credentials and we certainly got all we asked for and then some. Shadow has a boldness and independence that helps him in the field and the kind of "look at me, aren't I special" attitude that has served him well in the show ring. Shadow matured into an incredible specimen of the Brittany. He has thrown some great litters and several champions todate and his production and success in the ring just keep on coming.
Shadow completed his show championship in April 2004 by going Best of Breed and then garnering a Group 4 placement. In limited showing he has won several BOBs and all this before he was 2 years old. At the 2004 ABC National Specialty Show he was one of 4 dogs the Judge selected to consider for National Best of Breed and was in some outstanding company. In the field he took to training easily and was broke at six months. He points with great style, hunts to the front at good range and with great enthusiasm. His nose is outstanding, there is no other way to put it.
Shadow was delayed in getting a JH for a number of reason but did so easily when we finally got around to it. He is very powerful and has great ground speed. He loves to run and has certainly put on some impressive displays of his ground covering abilities for judges. We only wish we could have trialed him but that was just not in the cards. He would have loved it and gone after it with the same enthusiasm and drive he always does.
Shadow was brought out of retirement to get a Grand Champion title and he did that. After much encouragement at the 2010 ABC National Specialty and people asking to see more of him we sent him back east to let Gina Currier show him on the east coast. He will be with Gina through the summer and perhaps until the 2011 ABC National Specialty at which time he will retire for good. He still has some great hunting years in him an we want to let him do so.
Shadow has produced champions in each of the litters that he has sired, obvious exception is any litter under two years of age. A proven producer, Shadow is available for stud by private treaty. We do have frozen on him as well.
